Thanks Joe Dunn and Kyu Rhee, MD, MPP and National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) team, for putting this together. Uncertainty does not lend itself to efficiency and Centers leaders need to stand on a firm financial foundation at all times to be make the most of their scarce resources. Could we provide the Congressional phone list, or who exactly, you think we need to leave messages for and a short script, to this thread; obviously they’re a group of individuals committed to helping. Thanks again. 🤜🏼💥🤛🏼
Justin Kearley with NC Office of Rural Health - Powerful story and testament to important role rural health care plays in the lives of those who live there. Thank you so much for sharing your story Deborah.
Community Health Centers are the best secret in the U.S. health care system. We are the largest primary care network in the U.S., caring for 1 in 11 Americans, or over 31 million patients. We care for anyone who walks through their doors, regardless of insurance status or ability to pay.
Community Health Centers have always been innovative & learned to be resourceful with limited funding. They are critical to community outcomes and reducing readmissions and overall costs for healthcare spending. We NEED to care for our underserved communities!!
National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC)Thank you for the opportunity. I am a community health practitioners in a rural area in Nigeria, mararaba in Karu local government area of Nasarawa state. Here we have been confronted with the issues of having patient overload and limited resources to help these patients because it's a hard to reach area. I want to be guided on how to access international funding to support the community and improve the quality of life of the people in this community.
The vision and mission of health centers has ALWAYS been patient-centered and driven by passion to truly make a difference. Community Health Centers lead in the model of care in which healthcare should be operating. If we don not address these SDoH, we cannot improve the health of our country. Access to QUALITY care is crucial.
Our UT Children Wellness Clinic in Del Valle (Austin,Texas) have branched out a Social Resource Center to support Healthier families. We have food pantry , clothing closet and benefit enrollment navigating.
We all need to call our congressional representatives with the information we need to get across. and ask if the congressman is going to vote for us.
